Not only for calling and texting, but also as one of the entertainment accessories these days, the role of mobile phone is undeniable. We rely on smartphones to watch our favorite movies, listen to music or take pictures. Due to this multiple usage, the phone gets charged very quickly. There are many other reasons that can cause a phone battery to drain quickly. Samsung company has given some tips on its website to make the battery last longer. Find out what they are.
- Most smartphones have lithium ion batteries that require regular charging. This type of battery works best when kept above 50 percent charge.
- It is not a good practice to leave the phone connected to the charger even after charging. Repeatedly doing so may reduce battery life.
- Most smartphones have an automatic brightness setting. The phone automatically adjusts the brightness of the display based on the ambient light. If the display is set to full brightness, turn on the automatic setting to save battery life.
- Vibration uses extra battery power, so disable it if you don't need it.
- Some phones have a power saving mode that disables data connections or slows down processor usage when the screen is off. Power saving mode can turn off Bluetooth, vibration, GPS and syncing when locking the screen. If your phone has this mode, enable it. You will see a significant improvement in battery life.
- If the phone has location services turned on for GPS, the device continuously scans to determine your location on the map. Some location-based applications do this. Keeping location services on all the time will drain your phone's power quickly. Then turn on GPS if needed to save battery life.
- Some apps continue to run in the background until explicitly closed. You may not even know they are running. Most phones have a usage menu where you can see the running apps. Check the menu regularly and close apps you are not using.
- Many smartphones have notification systems that provide notifications about everything from new text messages to social network updates. A constant stream of updates can quickly drain your battery.
