In today's age, it is impossible to think of spending a day without a smartphone. Staring at the phone screen for a long time can cause various problems including dry eyes. If you want to reduce the harmful effects on the eyes, you must remember some things while using the smartphone. Find out what they are.
- Follow the 20-20-20 rule. Take a 20-second break every 20 minutes and look at something 20 feet away to rest your eyes.
- Activate a blue light filter on the device or use a screen protector that reduces blue light exposure.
- Adjust screen brightness. Excessive brightness can cause eye damage. Make sure your screen brightness is comfortable for your eyes. Avoid using the phone in very bright or very dark environments.
- Hold the phone at a comfortable distance from your eyes, ideally at least 16-18 inches away.
- Make a conscious effort to blink more frequently to keep your eyes moist.
- Regular eye exams are important to monitor eye health. If there is any problem it will be possible to identify it quickly.
